Johnny Arnold made it a memorable Father's Day.
With his father in attendance, Arnold no-hit the Menomonee Falls Lakers to lead the Brookfield Blue Sox to a 7-0 win at McCoy Field on June 19.
Arnold, who lowered his season ERA to 0.86, struck out nine and walked three in the shutout. He didn't allow a runner to reach second base.
The Blue Sox jumped on Lakers ace Don August for six runs in the first two innings. Pat Tobiasz had four hits for the Blue Sox, while Tim Kahle went 3-for-4 and Steve Bartlien had two hits and two RBIs.
After surrendering six runs through the first two innings, August settled in to keep it 6-0 through six. The Blue Sox added an unearned run off reliever Tommy Wolf in the seventh.
Now 6-3 in the Suburban Division, the Blue Sox will host Oconomowoc at 1 p.m. June 26 at McCoy Field.
After having the week off, the Brookfield Bulldogs will face the West Bend 7 Up at Carl M. Kuss Field at 1 p.m. June 26.
At 7-2, the Bulldogs lead the Suburban Division by 1/2game over Lannon.
