Brookfield East ended with a record of 10-6-4 under the direction of first-year head coach Derrick Banks, finishing third (4-2-1) in the Greater Metro Conference behind the top two teams in the state.

'The season had a lot of ups and downs,' Banks said. 'We had three outstanding captains in Ari Banks, Abby Gregg and Avery Ulschmid, who did a tremendous job to keep the team loose and on the right track.'

He was happy with his team's attitude and makeup.

'I couldn't have asked for a better group of girls to coach in my first season,' he said. 'They literally gave everything they had at each training session and game. Although we didn't reach the ultimate goal, I feel confident in knowing that everyone improved as players, and our coaching staff improved as teachers of the game.'

East will lose eight seniors to graduation: Gregg, Ulschmid, Ari Banks, Steph Howland, Maddie Mihm, Hannah Lein, Cami Cross and Alexis Falci.

'We will miss our seniors,' Banks said. 'They have provided us so many memorable moments. I can't express the gratitude I have for them. They have paved the way for our underclassmen to go out and realize their dreams.'

Gregg was a first-team all-conference selection and honorable mention went to the following nine girls: Ulschmid, Cross, Ari Banks, Liv Banks, Aubrey Prey, Delani MacKay, Christine Brankle, Bailey Fitzpatrick and Hannah Lein.
