With five first-place finishes, Brookfield Central's boys track and field team took second place at the Doug Johnson Bulldog Invitational hosted March 24 at West Allis Central High School.
The Lancers scored 131.5 team points to come in behind West Allis Hale at 146.5 points. Rounding out the top five at the 10-team meet were West Allis Central at 80.5 points, Milwaukee King at 58 points and Franklin at 57 points.
Winning individual titles for Brookfield Central were Zach Heckman in the 55-meter dash in 6.90 seconds, Max Meves in the 400 in 57.85 seconds, Gabriel Eagon in the 1,600 in 4 minutes, 59.10 seconds and Joey Cleary in the triple jump at 40 feet, 8.25 inches.
The relay team of Michael Uy, Adam Uy, Michael Vandenberg and Ryan Blaha took first place in the 4x800 in 9:19.22.
Vandenberg was the runnerup in the 200 in 25.19 seconds, and Cleary and Trent Boldin tied for second in the high jump, both clearing 5 feet, 8 inches. Cleary, Heckman, Chiemeka Chioma, Jacob Vraney placed second in the 4x240 in 2:07.48.
Earning third-place finishes were Adam Uy in the 800 in 2:17.97, Breck Duncan in the 1,600 in 5:00.69, Stephan Eagon in the 3,200 in 11:29.94, Sam Ockwood in the shot put with a top throw of 43 feet, 9 inches and Max Casey in the pole vault clearing 11 feet, 6 inches.
Chioma was fifth in the 200 in 25.76 seconds, Blaha took fifth in the 400 in 1:00.55, and Blake Py placed fifth in the pole vault by clearing 10-06.
