Brookfield Academy's season came to an end this week in the second round of the WIAA playoffs. On March 28, BA opened up the playoffs with a first round win over Milwaukee Carmen, 95-66.

The Blue Knights were led in scoring by Aidan Clarey with 31 points, which included nine 3-point baskets. Alex Setzer added 20 points and 19 rebounds. Zach Krohn connected on four long-range bombs to put the game out of reach and finished with 12 points. Jack Cahalane controlled the tempo and pace of the game finishing with 12 points and 8 assists.

The Blue Knights traveled to Dominican on March 3 for a second-round matchup with the powerhouse from the Metro Classic Conference. This game lived up to all the hype and became very physical and very intense early on. Dominican climbed to a 19-point lead early in the second half, but BA came all the way back to tie the game at 45-45. Krohn, Cahalane and Daniel Halquist fouled out, and eventually the Blue Knights lost, 61-50. Clarey and Setzer each scored 16 points to lead the team in scoring. The loss finishes BA with an overall record of 15-9 and 13-2 in the Midwest Classic Conference

Varsity girls basketball

Brookfield Academy's girls basketball team ended the season with a 50-32 sectional loss to Martin Luther High School. The Spartans started the game with intensity and aggression and kept it up throughout the entire game. Brookfield Academy fought hard, but the Spartans were making their shots, completing their passes and going for steals.

Anika Washburn kept the Knights in the game with a total of 16 points. Although the girls lost the game, they ended on a high note as conference and regional champs.
