"We had some ups and downs at our second dual meet of the year, but it was great to see the girls rally together and pull out a victory," Brookfield coach Erin Kokta said. "We took the top two spots on every single event on both the JV and varsity level. We are still working on feeling comfortable in our routines. I was very impressed with our vault and bar squads as they took the top three spots in JV and varsity. We are looking forward to our two-week break so that we can have some fun and work on adding new skills to routines."

The junior varsity team downed Shorewood, 117.675-69.275. Sophie Latona won the all-around and took first place in the vault, bars and floor. Dundun claimed first place on the beam.

Brookfield varsity earned a 135.15-123.5 win over Grafton/Cedarburg in its first meet of the season on Dec. 7.

Locante won the all-around with a score of 36.225. She also took first place on the bars at 9.025, beam at 8.7 and floor at 9.5 and was second on the vault at 9.0.

"Our first meet was a success," Kokta said. "It was great to start competing. Our biggest focus was just to get through routines as it is still very early in the season. We want to have a good basic base so that we can work on bumping up difficulty over the holiday break."

The Brookfield junior varsity team easily defeated Grafton/Cedarburg, 115.15-29.05. Feng won the vault and the beam, while Caitlyn Albrecht took first place in floor exercise and on the bars.
