Brookfield East's wrestling team earned its first dual meet win of the season with a 42-32 victory over Marquette on Dec. 15.
"We wrestled hard and had a lot of positives come out of the match," Brookfield East coach Andrew Mueller said. "There were a number of kids wrestling their first varsity dual and a few that were wrestling in their second varsity dual."
The Spartans earned received pins from Nick Martin (182), Jack Kujawa (220) and John Champe (285) and received a forfeit to Chase Jansen at 106 pounds to grab a 24-3 lead.
Marquette received major decisions at 113 and 120 pounds and a pin at 126 pounds to pull to within 24-17. Brookfield East got back on track, as Colten Pucek and David Holzem recorded consecutive pins at 132 and 138 pounds and Hunter Fischer received a forfeit victory at 145 pounds to secure the win.
