Brookfield East's boys basketball team opened its season with a 73-61 loss to Waukesha North on Dec. 2.

The Northstars (1-1) jumped out to a 34-27 lead at halftime and outscored the Spartans, 40-34, in the second half to come away with a 13-point victory.

Senior guard Jake Graf led Brookfield East with 20 points. Junior forward Patrick Cartier added 10 points; sophomore Riley LeTourneau scored 9 points; sophomore Thomas Francken and freshman Sam McGath each finished with 8 points; and junior Peyton Simon scored 6 points.

The Spartans struggled to slow Northstars junior forward Will McDonald, who scored a game-high 27 points on 10 made field goals. Senior forward Kendall Gould added 13 points, junior guard Dailon Little had 11 points and senior guard Taylor Anderson chipped in with 10 points.

Brookfield East was scheduled to play at Milwaukee Bradley Tech (0-4) on Wednesday, Dec. 9. The Spartans will open Greater Metro Conference play at West Allis Hale at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9.
