Amen, Rev. Calloway, amen | Letter

CJ Letter

Please know that prayer is a very important and integral part of my life.  Gov. Bevin's call for "prayer patrols" is insulting and blasphemous.

Violence is becoming so prevalent in our daily lives that we barely react when there is a shooting at the Big Four Bridge. Yes those of us who do pray need to pray fervently when bad things happen.  However, we also need to be called to action.

Violence and murder is a problem in our city -- how can we collectively help? Rev. Clay Calloway discussed  how, "(Bevin) didn't discuss anything of substance...he has a responsibility to produce public policy, regulation and provide resources."

Calloway concluded by saying, "We don't need a sermon or him quoting Scripture, we know the Bible and we're already praying."

Amen, Reverend Calloway, amen.
