We're not sure this is catching on, but Tim Kaine offered up a new nickname for himself at the outset of an interview with a Charlotte hip-hop radio station.

After an introduction on Power 98 FM's "No Limit Larry & The Morning Maddhouse" show that was preceded by a host referencing Lil Wayne, Kaine joked: "They call me Lil Kaine, not Lil Wayne."

The show's hosts enthusiastically played along, telling listeners "Lil Kaine on the phone with us!"

In the interview, the Virginia senator also discussed some of the artists he and his team are listening to on the trail, including The Isley Brothers, Gnarls Barkley and Sly & the Family Stone.

"Music helps it go better," the Democratic vice presidential nominee said of campaigning.

Kaine also discussed his biography, as well as concerns over police treatment of African Americans. You can listen to the full interview here.
