World’s Ugliest Dog of 2016 is a blind Chihuahua/Chinese Crested mix

Sweepee Rambo, a blind Chihuahua/Chinese Crested mix, won the this year’s title of World’s Ugliest Dog.

The dog was crowned at the World's Ugliest Dog Contest on Friday night in Petaluma, Calif.

Owner Jason Wurtz of Encino, Calif., told ABC News the pup was a gift to his ex-wife. When the couple split, he took the dog, because his wife thought Sweepee Rambo was ugly. It turns out she was right.

This is the third time the 4-pound dog competed, but it's her first win. Sweepee’s owner took home $1,500 and a trophy.
