Secret Santa delivers layaway surprise

Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it becomes easy to forget that this is a season of giving.

One couple found a way to help by donating to an unusual place…the layaway section of a Georgia Walmart.

"A couple came in and they wanted to make a Good Samaritan donation," explains Walmart employee Dawn Morales. That donation amount? $5,000….enough to pay off presents for 30 people.

For someone like Jana Ooley, this generous gift came at exactly the right time. After her ex-husband died suddenly in October, she knew it was already going to be a tough holiday for her children. Coupled with financial troubles, Ooley was worried this holiday might not have a silver lining.

"I have a car that's about to fall apart completely, so I was already struggling just with the day-to-day," Ooley says. When she got the news from Walmart that her gifts had been paid for by a complete stranger, she was amazed.

Thanks to one couple's selfless gift, these families will have a brighter, merrier holiday season.

"It brings you back to the goodness in people, because there are good people out there who are willing to go the extra mile," says Morales.
