TOWN OF BROOKFIELD – Shoppers at The Corners now have a new option available to them.

Free People opened its first store in the southeastern Wisconsin area Friday morning, April 28 after a sneak peek the previous evening was made available to customers.

Free People Public Relations Assistant Katerina Patouhas said the company has been planning its new Brookfield store for about a year.

"We saw a great potential to offer customers in the area a great selection of apparel, shoes and accessories," Patouhas said.

The retailer offers its own line of American Bohemian apparel as well as swimwear, accessories and intimates. The company prides itself on a large portion of its merchandise being handknit or hand-dyed.

"Free People is able to offer a unique selection of apparel that will complete any wardrobe," Patouhas said.

The new store is located near Market Square across from Von Maur. The company operates approximately 125 stores around the country with its only other Wisconsin location in Madison.
