Is the town of Brookfield planning to have Carp O' Rama this year? Last year when it was cancelled they said that they might not bring it back. My sons used to have a lot of fun with it and I hope that it does not go away permanently.
Answer: I wish that I could give you a more helpful answer here. Maybe in a few weeks we'll know more.
As of right now, town of Brookfield Director of Parks & Recreation Chad Brown said that it is too early to know if the event will happen.
"We probably will know in late May," Brown said.
Carp O' Rama has been a youth fishing contest open to children ages 4 to 12 for over 20 years. It takes place in Brook Park off of North Barker Road, but has not had enough participation since 2014.
Last year marked the second consecutive year in which Brown and the town had to cancel the fishing contest due to not having the 10 to 20 participants necessary to make the event possible.
I'll make sure to keep you updated on the situation as we get further into spring.
