TOWN OF BROOKFIELD – Another week, another new store at The Corners.
Sendik’s is set to open the doors to its newest location Sunday, April 23.
The store will offer everything from traditional groceries and flowers to home décor and made-to-order sushi. The Corners’ location will be the first Sendik’s store to offer the made-to-order sushi feature.
“Our sushi does really well at other stores and so we decided to try it,” Sendik’s Communications Director Nick Bandoch said.
The store will also include fresh daily-made salads, a hot bar and even a small seating area for those wanting to take a break from shopping or grab a bite to eat.
“The things that we do great are that we have great service and we’re customer-focused. We have a lot of top-shelf things that people are going to find are the things they would be really proud to serve their family,” Bandoch said.
The new Sendik’s measures approximately 35,000 square feet, which Bandoch says is on par with other recently-opened locations in West Milwaukee and Hartland.
“We’re getting more efficient. People are shopping differently,” Bandoch said.
Bandoch said the company's location at The Corners is its first as part of a shopping center.
"I think this is certainly going to be a destination for a lot of people. It's a really compelling location," Bandoch said. "There's a lot of traffic for us to capitalize on."
So far, the company has hired 95 employees for the new store, but many positions are still available. A list of openings can be found at www.sendiks.com.
Sendik’s will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 26 and one lucky shopper will win a 7-night Alaskan cruise. A number of other promotional offers will be held April 29-30 including gift card giveaways with qualifying purchase, face painting and mascot appearances.
