A 58-year-old Brown Deer woman is dead after an automobile accident Tuesday night in the city of Brookfield.

City of Brookfield police say the accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. at the intersection of West Capitol Drive and Springdale Road and have identified the victim as Sherry L. Meyer.

Meyer’s vehicle was stopped on northbound Springdale in the right turn lane with the intent of going east on Capitol.

Police say that indications show that a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Oconomowoc boy who was eastbound on Capitol in the southernmost lane deviated from its lane and caused the accident.

The boy was not injured. Meyer was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital but later died.

It does not appear that weather or road conditions played a role in the crash, police say. At this time police also do not believe that alcohol or drugs were involved.

The 16-year-old and his family have been cooperating with police and the investigation is ongoing.
