City of Brookfield — At the end of "The Avengers," Ironman provides comic relief by suggesting that the superhero team all go out for shawarma, something that he has been wanting to try.

Residents of Brookfield and the surrounding area can now join those fictional characters and form their own opinions thanks to the Saed family deciding to open the Shawarma House's second location in Brookfield.

"We have had a lot of our catering orders out here in Brookfield so we already knew that we had a market here," co-owner Mahmoud Saed said. "We actually had a customer who helped us find this space."

The restaurant opened Dec. 8 in the former home of O' What a Day Cafe at 17385 W. Bluemound Road.

Shawarma House offers a variety of fast, casual Middle Eastern cuisine including kebabs, falafel, baba ghannouj, dawali and of course, its namesake, beef and chicken shawarma.

"Business has been very good; it's been a lot of first-timers. Our cashiers are trained to, when someone walks in the door, ask them, 'Is this your first time at Shawarma House?'" Saed said.

The Brookfield restaurant marks the Shawarma House's first new location since it opened on the East Side of Milwaukee at 2921 N. Oakland Ave. near UWM in 2014.

Saed noted that the restaurant is already looking at another future restaurant, but could not provide more information on where it might be located.

Shawarma House offers both delivery and catering. For more information go to www.shawarmahouse1.com or call 262-938-9300.
