Thursday

Public ice skating: Grab your skates and take a spin around the ice at the Eble Ice Arena, 19400 W. Bluemound Road, from noon to 3 p.m. (all weekdays and 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays). The cost is $6.50 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens. Skates can be rented for $2.50.

Toddler Tales story time: Children ages 2 and 3 can enjoy stories, songs and fingerplays at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. A caregiver must attend this half-hour program with the child. Registration is not required.

Elm Grove story time: Children up to age 3 and their caregiver can hear a story and spend time playing with toys related to the day's theme during Baby and Me Story Time at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd., from 10 to 11 a.m. Register in advance; call the library at (262) 782-6717.

Singer/songwriter performs:Nora Collins, a three-time Wisconsin Area Music Industry award winner and a Brookfield native, will perform at Potbelly Sandwich Shop, 12455 W. Capitol Drive, from noon to 1 p.m.

Saturday

Town Easter egg hunt: All children 8 and younger can take part in an egg hunt at Marx Park, 700 S. Barker Road, at 10 a.m. Children will be grouped by age, and an egg crawl will be held for the tiniest hunters. Bring your own basket and a camera, as the Easter Bunny will be available for pictures.

Monday

Preschool Story Time: Children ages 3 to 5 are invited to the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, at 10:30 a.m. for a half-hour session filled with songs, stories and fingerplays. Children must attend with a caregiver.

Children's Craft Day: Kids can take part in a spring break activity session from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

Family Fun Night: The whole family can come to the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.to play board games.

AARP tax assistance: AARP Foundation Tax-Aide will offer free, individualized tax preparation for low- to moderate-income taxpayers, especially those 60 and older, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., by appointment, at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road. Call the adult reference desk at (262) 782-4140, option 1, to make an appointment.

Wednesday

BabyTime story time: Children up to 24 months can listen to stories, sing songs and more during this program from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road. A parent or caregiver must attend with the child.

One-Minute Workout for Back and Joint Pain: Raymond Wu, M.D., author of 'One-Minute Workout: Build Fat-Burning Lean Muscle, Massive Strength and Better Health in Just 60 Seconds a Day,' will give a presentation at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, from 7 to 8 p.m.

Downsizing?Let's Get Started: Kathi Miller, clutter coach, will help you figure out what to take, what to leave behind, and how to go about deciding during this program at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd., from 7 to 8 p.m.This free program is open to all.
