Woman's Club holding annual rummage sale

The Elm Grove Woman's Club, 13885 Watertown Plank Road, hosts its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16.

The rummage sale features more than 30 vendors and includes a bake sale.

Sunset presents Broadway homage

The Sunset Playhouse, 800 Elm Grove Road, presents 'Highlights From The Footlights,' a salute to the best of Broadway in this homage to the timeless songs of the Great White Way. The show runs from Thursday, April 7, to Saturday, April 9. The music is from the Golden Age of Broadway to current smash hits, and everything in between.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for groups of 15 or more.

Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday.

Sunset presents musical 'Putnam County Spelling Bee'

The Sunset Playhouse, 800 Elm Grove Road, presents the musical 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee' from Thursday, April 21, to Sunday, May 8. The show is rated PG-13 for language and content.

Tickets are $25 for adults; $23 for seniors, students and military personnel; and $18 for groups of 15 or more. There are also two value nights, Thursday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 27, when tickets are $15.

Show times are at 7:30 p.m. for evening performances, 3 p.m. for a Saturday matinee (May 7) and at 2 p.m. for Sunday matinees.

Tickets also can be purchased at the box office window until showtime.

Library presents program on Jane Austen

The Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, presents 'Discovering Jane Austen' at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31.

Kristen Hammargren presents her one-woman show about the famouse author. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Spring break activities on tap

The Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, presents two activities for kids during spring break:

· Children's movie day from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 30. The film is to be announced.

· Lego-Mania from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 31

Wilson Center presents dance concert

The Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 West Capitol Drive, presents the Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Dance Fantasy 2016 at 7 p.m. Friday, April 1, and 2, and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 2.

The show features professional and amateur dance performances demonstrating a variety of ballroom dancing, from social to exhibition to theatrical. This is a family show appropriate for all ages.

Library plays host to Scottish dancers

The Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, presents Scottish Country Dancers in the community room at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5.

Celebrate Scottish American Heritage Month by joining the library for a fabulous performance by the Milwaukee Scottish Country Dancers. All ages are welcome.

Library showing home movies … including yours

Do you have home movies sitting in your closet? The Brookfield Public Library, 1900 Calhoun Road, is hosting a Home Movie Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in the community room.

Film archivists will inspect, clean and repair your reels for projection including 8mm, 16mm, Super 8, videocassettes and DVDs.

Registration is required. Please register with the adult reference desk by Friday, March 25, by calling (262) 782-4140, option 1. Check-in begins at noon on the day of the program.
