CITY OF BROOKFIELD
1Police responded to a report of an attempted robbery at Pick 'n Save, 12735 W. Capitol Drive, at around 10:30 p.m. Feb. 23. The complainant stated that a man approached her from behind and attempted to steal her purse. The complainant struck the suspect in the face and he dropped the purse before fleeing the scene.
2A 28-year-old man was arrested for retail theft after attempting to steal shavers and deodorant from Pick 'n Save, 12735 W. Capitol Drive, at 4:29 p.m. Feb. 22.
3A 46-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were arrested and charged with retail theft after attempting to steal $265.23 worth of merchandise from Pick 'n Save, 12735 W. Capitol Drive, at 3:49 p.m. Feb. 23.
4Nineteen items with a total value of $1,090.05 were stolen from Victoria's Secret, 95 N. Moorland Road, by an unknown suspect sometime between 3 and 3:30 p.m. Feb. 23.
5A radio was stolen from Milwaukee Electric Tool, 13135 W. Lisbon Road, sometime before 1:45 p.m. Feb. 26. The complainant suspected a cleaning employee who was on the scene; however, the theft was not witnessed and the cleaning employee would not consent to a search of her personal belongings.
6A brown leather bag containing miscellaneous items including bank cards and a check book were stolen from a vehicle parked at the Brookfield Indoor Soccer Complex, 19485 W. Lisbon Road, sometime between 10:30 and 11:13 a.m. Feb. 27. A window of the vehicle had been smashed in order to gain entry.
7Three bags full of merchandise were stolen from Kohl's, 2315 N. 124th Street, by two unknown females at approximately 3:05 p.m. Feb. 27. The complainant stated that a silver Chevy Impala with a temporary plate was waiting outside for them.
8A 27-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving and possession of marijuana at West Capitol Drive and Springdale Road at 12:37 a.m. Feb. 28.
9A 74-year-old woman was arrested and cited for drunken driving, possession of marijuana and having an open intoxicant in the vehicle at BP, 12402 W. Capitol Drive, at 4:04 p.m. Feb. 28.
10A 48-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving with passengers under 16 years old in the vehicle after a traffic stop at Potbelly's Sandwich Shop, 17800 W. Bluemound Road, at 4:57 p.m. Feb. 24. The suspect was driving with his 9-year-old son and his girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter.
11Police were called to a residence in the 1500 block of Hickory Hill Lane at 1:37 p.m. Feb. 22 to mediate a dispute between two neighbors. The complainant stated that his neighbor put a video camera up in a window that records the area where the complainant's daughter's bedroom and bathroom are. The neighbor says that he put it up to annoy the complainant because the complainant has been milling around the area and contacted city hall about a branch. The neighbor agreed to take the camera down but requested that police have the complainant adjust a flood light that shines into his bedroom. Both neighbors were provided mediation packets and officers asked the original complainant to adjust the flood light.
12A 17-year-old student was cited after being found in possession of a bottle of alcohol on school grounds at Brookfield Central High School, 16900 Gebhardt Road, at 5:38 p.m. Feb. 22.
TOWN OF BROOKFIELD
13Two televisions were stolen from an exercise room at Brookfield Highlands, 20825 George Hunt Circle, sometime before 2:36 p.m. Feb. 20. A television in another nearby room also showed signs of someone having attempted to remove it although they were unsuccessful.
14A 25-year-old Minnesota man was arrested and charged with domestic violence battery after allegedly striking his girlfriend four times at La Quinta, 20371 W. Bluemound Road, at 11:07 a.m. Feb. 21.
15A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested and cited for possession of marijuana at 18000 W. Bluemound Road at 7:58 p.m. Feb. 18.
16A 23-year-old Waukesha man died from an apparent heroin overdose at Motel 6, 20300 W. Bluemound Road, at 7:14 p.m. Feb. 23. Police responded to the hotel and found the man on the floor. He was transported to an unnamed hospital and later died. The woman who had called police told officers that the man had gotten out of prison that day and that she had driven him to pick up heroin that day. The woman was arrested on the scene for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
17Police responded to a threats call at Potbelly's Sandwich Shop, 17800 W. Bluemound Road at 8:55 p.m. Feb. 18 after a 20-year-old man was threatened by his 41-year-old father. The complainant stated that he and his father had been at odds for years and that his father had just gotten out of prison and had told him that he was going to beat him up outside of Potbelly's. Police arrived and contacted the father and advised him to stay away from Potbelly's and to stop contacting his son. Police referred charges of disorderly conduct and unlawful use of a telephone to the Waukesha County district attorney and the father's parole agent has put out a warrant for his arrest.
