Public ice skating: Grab your skates and take a spin around the ice at the Eble Ice Arena, 19400 W. Bluemound Road, from noon to 3 p.m. each weekday and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens. Skates can be rented for $2.50.

Toddler Tales: Children ages 2 and 3 can listen to stories, sing songs and enjoy finger plays during a half-hour session at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

“Little Shop of Horrors”: This Broadway and Hollywood musical features a carnivorous plant that promises meek floral assistant Seymour fame and fortune as long as he keeps feeding it – blood. Internet Resources You Need to Know: Librarians at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, will teach attendees something about internet resources or online databases on a particular topic at 10 a.m. the first Saturday of each month.

Tuesday bridge group: Come play bridge at the Brookfield Senior Community Center located at City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Road, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. each Tuesday. The cost is $1 per week. Heart Health - Know Your Numbers: Learn how to protect your heart by knowing your numbers and identify your personal risk during this session about heart disease from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd. This Grapevine session is sponsored by the Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation, and will be presented by Christina Ebert, a nurse with the Grapevine Project.

Experiencing Women’s History Through Fashion: Barbara T. Armstrong, dean of Mount Mary University’s School of Art and Design, and Sarah Eichorn, assistant professor and co-chair of the Mount Mary Fashion Department and acting curator of the historic costume collection at the school, will provide insights into the history of women’s fashion and fashion design at a meeting of The West Suburban-Milwaukee Branch of the American Association of University Women at 6:30 p.m. at the Sunset Playhouse Studio Theater, 800 Elm Grove Road.
