Public ice skating: Grab your skates and take a spin around the ice at the Eble Ice Arena, 19400 W. Bluemound Road, from noon to 3 p.m. each weekday (note: no public skating on Saturday and Sunday this week). The cost is $6.50 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens. Skates can be rented for $2.50.

Toddler Tales: Children ages 2 and 3 can listen to stories, sing songs and enjoy finger plays during a half-hour session at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

Preschool Story Time: Children ages 3 to 5 who haven’t started kindergarten yet can take part in early literacy activities including stories, rhymes and songs from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd. This program is offered weekly through Nov. 16. Register for this group by stopping by the Children’s Department or calling the library at 262-782-6700.

Elm Grove Monthly Lego Club: The library will provide the Legos and a theme for the day to guide participant’s creative building during this drop-in program from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd. This activity is recommended for kids in kindergarten through grade five. A robotics demonstration will take place at 4:30 p.m., with members of the FIRST Robotics Team 1732 sharing their student-written book, “Robot McGuire: Meek to Magnificent,” and provide an interactive demonstration with one of the team’s robots.

“It Might as Well be Swing”: Pete Sorce, backed by Swing Explosion, will present delightful and memorable standards during this SideNotes Cabaret performance at the Sunset Playhouse, 800 Elm Grove Road, at 8 p.m. (also 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday). Morning Coffee Break: Parents and other caregivers can enjoy coffee and conversation while their 3- to 5-year-olds play and listen to stories at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd., from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Digital Downloads: Learn how to borrow digital books, audiobooks, and magazines and use them on your computer, tablet, phone or other portable electronic device during this session from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road. The Overdrive system will be demonstrated and there will be a question-and-answer session.

Read to Enzo the Dog: Students in grades 1 through 5 can practice reading aloud to Enzo the dog at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd. Sign up for a 25-minute session that will take place between 1 and 2:30 p.m. by calling the library at 262-782-6717.

Toddler Playgroup: Children up to age 3 can enjoy play time with age-appropriate early literacy toys and interaction with other toddlers and their caregivers during this story time at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd. Drop in anytime between 10 and 11 a.m. Registration is not needed.

At Knit’s End: Knitters of all skill levels can join this group that meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Emotional Wellness and Essential Oils: The Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, will present a program on how to stay emotionally healthy with the help of essential oils at 7 p.m. Attendance is limited so registration is required. Tuesday bridge group: Come play bridge at the Brookfield Senior Community Center located at City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Road, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. each Tuesday. The cost is $1 per week.
