Extravagance in Elm Grove.

Anyone who has been seeking such a feature in a destination will have their chance to achieve that goal tenfold when arguably one of the most astounding properties in the village goes up for auction next week.

Concierge Auctions has taken on the 19,143-square-foot French Country estate at 1505 Greenway Terrace and will be taking offers on the property Dec. 20.

The auction process will take place via Concierge Auctions’ mobile app, Instant Gavel.

“It’s a live auction but it doesn’t actually take place on the property. It’s done on Instant Gavel, which you can get in the Google Play Store or the Apple Store,” Concierge Auctions project manager Ethan Shadden said. “We have buyers all over the world.”

The auction is expected to take between 20 minutes and an hour. Upon registering, users will be given a username and password and should log in at 5 p.m. (Central time) to place their bids.

The property, which has been vacant since early 2014, features eight bedrooms, nine full bathrooms, a wine cellar, a golf putting area, multiple fireplaces, a rear patio with a pool, a movie theater, a separate apartment for a maid or caretaker and much more.

“We’re a luxury auction company so every house that we auction is unique in its own way, but they’re all very luxurious. This one is very different,” Shadden said. “It’s beautiful.”

The house also features a six-car heated garage and is only about a half mile from Elm Grove Village Park.

After being previously listed for $5.2 million, the home will sell at or above a $2.5 million reserve in cooperation with Curt Trau of First Weber Realtors.

The reserve price means that if the winning bid comes in under that number, the seller can choose to turn down the offer.
