The Elmbrook School District will host the S.E. Regional Poetry Out Loud Competition Monday, Feb. 13 at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts.

The competition will feature students from Brookfield Central High School, University School of Milwaukee, Milwaukee High School of the Arts, Arrowhead High School, Kettle Moraine Perform and Marquette University High School who will compete for the chance to go to the state competition in March.

Brookfield Central will be represented by Abby Fuchs and Mia Wedel as well as the Brookfield Central student jazz group The Ornithologists.

The event will also feature a special guest performance by Poetry Out Loud 2016 state champion and Brookfield Central alum Kirsten Meier.

Admission to the event is free. The competition will begin at 7 p.m. The Wilson Center is located at 19805 W. Capitol Drive in the city of Brookfield.
