CITY OF BROOKFIELD - Tree-nappers!

One person has been cited, but city of Brookfield police are still searching for a second suspect they believe was involved in the theft of a number of trees from a Brookfield business.

In the early morning hours of March 27 — sometime between 1:53 a.m. and 3:44 a.m. — a dozen arborvitae trees and two other flowering trees were removed from a business in the 14100 block of West Greenfield Avenue.

One suspect, a 35-year-old Wauwatosa man, has turned himself in and has been cited for prowling and theft; however, police are still searching for a second suspect whom they describe as an approximately 30-year-old white or Hispanic man standing approximately 6 feet tall.

Police have released a photo of a man whom they believe to be the suspect. A vehicle described as a newer, light-colored SUV, possibly an Audi or Porsche and a small utility trailer were also used in the crime, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the city of Brookfield police department at 262-787-3702.
