Rue 21, which sells clothing geared toward teens and young adults, said it will keep about 700 stores open. Before the announcement, it listed 1,194 locations across 48 states in shopping malls, outlets and strip centers.

Local Rue 21 stores closing:

  • U Square @ the Loop - 223 Calhoun Street, Cincinnati
  • Alexandria Village Green - 6831 Alexandria Pike, Alexandria
  • Bridgewater Falls - 3425 Princeton Road, Hamilton

Another nearby store, at Tanger Outlet Center in Jeffersonville, will close.
