'Hamilton' casts 'In the Heights' alums on Broadway, in Chicago

The Hamilton family keeps getting larger.

The show announced via its official Twitter account Monday that Joshua Henry and Jonathan Kirkland will take on the roles of Aaron Burr and George Washington, respectively, in the Chicago run of the musical.Mandy Gonzalez has also been tapped to take over the role of Angelica Schuyler on Broadway after original cast member Renée Elise Goldsberry departs later this year.

Henry and Gonzalez were both members of the original Broadway cast of In the Heights, and Henry is a two-time Tony nominee for his roles in musicals Violet and The Scottsboro Boys. The Chicago production also has In the Heights alum Karen Olivo in the cast, playing Angelica Schulyer. Kirkland was most recently seen on NBC's Shades of Blue.

Performances of the Chicago run begin Sept. 27 at the PrivateBank Theatre in Chicago.
