Public ice skating: Grab your skates and take a spin around the ice at the Eble Ice Arena, 19400 W. Bluemound Road, from noon to 3 p.m. each weekday and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens. Skates can be rented for $2.50.

Toddler Tales: Children ages 2 and 3 can listen to stories, sing songs and enjoy finger plays during a half-hour session at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

Elm Grove Monthly Lego Club: The library will provide the Legos and a theme for the day to guide participant’s creative building during this drop-in program from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd. This activity is recommended for kids in kindergarten through grade five.

Gardening Tips for Improving Home Landscape and Creating Curb Appeal: Ann Wied, consumer horticulture educator/community development educator for University of Wisconsin Extension Waukesha County, will present tips for making your yard the envy of neighbors and passersby from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

“Little Shop of Horrors”: This Broadway and Hollywood musical features a carnivorous plant that promises meek floral assistant Seymour fame and fortune as long as he keeps feeding it - blood. Over time, Seymour discovers the plant’s plans for world domination. The curtain rises at 7:30 p.m. (also 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday) at the Sunset Playhouse, 800 Elm Grove Road. Morning Coffee Break: Parents and other caregivers can enjoy coffee and conversation while their 3- to 5-year-olds play and listen to stories at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd., from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Artist Reception: A reception for artists Nirmal Raja and Leslie Vansen, whose “Accumulation” mixed media work is on exhibit, will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Ploch Art Gallery at the Wilson Center, 19805 W. "Reflections of a Soldier, Vietnam 1968 - 1969”: Army veteran Michael Kastern will discuss his time as a soldier in Vietnam and the Milwaukee Journal’s Letters From Home printed in the 1960s and early 1970s during an Elmbrook Historical Society-sponsored presentation at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, at 7 p.m. This lecture is in conjunction with the display "A Face for Every Name," a 17-panel traveling exhibit from the Wisconsin Veterans Museum, featuring the 1,161 men and women from the state who died in Vietnam.

Tuesday Morning Playgroup: Children up to age 2 can drop in any time between 10 and 11:30 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, to play with toys and make new friends.

Toddler Playgroup: Children up to age 3 can enjoy play time with age-appropriate early literacy toys and interaction with other toddlers and their caregivers during this story time at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd. Drop in anytime between 10 and 11 a.m. Registration is not needed.

At Knit’s End: Knitters of all skill levels can join this group that meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Mary Wollstonecraft - Philosopher, Scholar, Women's Rights Activist, Educator, Journalist: Greg Sadler, PhD, will give a presentation about feminist writer and intellectual Mary Wollstonecraft from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road. Wollstonecraft is author of “A Vindication of the Rights of Woman.”

Tuesday bridge group: Come play bridge at the Brookfield Senior Community Center located at City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Road, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. each Tuesday. The cost is $1 per week. Trinity United Church of Christ Seminar Series: Everyone is welcome to attend the spring seminar series at Trinity United Church of Christ, 4435 N. Calhoun Road. All programs begin at 7 p.m. and will last about an hour. The March 22 topic is “Bullying and Cyber Bullying,” presented by the Brookfield Police Department. The April 5 topic is “Substance Abuse Trends,” presented by the Addiction Resource Council of Waukesha County.
