Public ice skating: Grab your skates and take a spin around the ice at the Eble Ice Arena, 19400 W. Bluemound Road, from noon to 3 p.m. each weekday and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens. Skates can be rented for $2.50.

Toddler Tales: Children ages 2 and 3 can listen to stories, sing songs and enjoy finger plays during a half-hour session at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

Preschool Story Time: Children ages 3 to 5 who haven’t started kindergarten yet can take part in early literacy activities including stories, rhymes and songs from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd. Register for this group by stopping by the Children’s Department or calling the library at 262-782-6700.

Dukes of Dixieland: Celebrate Mardi Gras with the music of New Orleans at the Wilson Center, 19805 W. Capitol Drive, at 1 p.m. Ticket prices range from $25 to $29; call the Wilson Center box office at 262-781-9520 or visit wilson-center.com.

Friday 2/24

BabyTime story time: Children up to 24 months can listen to stories, sing songs and more during this program from 11 to 11:20 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road. A parent or caregiver must attend with the child.

Morning Coffee Break: Parents and other caregivers can enjoy coffee and conversation while their 3- to 5-year-olds play and listen to stories at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd., from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Sunday 2/26

Audition for “The Dixie Swim Club”: Audition for a part in “The Dixie Swim Club” at the Sunset Playhouse, 800 Elm Grove Road, between 1 and 4 p.m. (also 7 to 10 p.m. Monday). Auditions will consist of readings from the script. The play is about five Southern women who set aside a long weekend each year to renew relationships that began years ago when they were all on their college swim team. Tuesday 2/28

Tuesday Morning Playgroup: Children up to age 2 can drop in any time between 10 and 11:30 a.m. at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, to play with toys and make new friends.

Toddler Playgroup: Children up to age 3 can enjoy play time with age-appropriate early literacy toys and interaction with other toddlers and their caregivers during this story time at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd. Drop in anytime between 10 and 11 a.m. Registration is not needed.

Lego Club: Kids of all ages can come to the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, from 7 to 8 p.m. to build fabulous creations with the library’s Legos. Parents must stay with children younger than 10.

Free Hearing Screening: A representative from Connect Hearing will be at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road, to provide free hearing evaluations from 2 to 4 p.m. Screenings will be done on a first-come, first-served basis and take about 15 minutes.

Tuesday bridge group: Come play bridge at the Brookfield Senior Community Center located at City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Road, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. each Tuesday. The cost is $1 per week. Play with the same partner. Prizes awarded weekly. Advance registration is required. New players should call Iva at 262-703-9585.

Wednesday 3/1
