Tom Hiddleston denies that romance with Taylor Swift is a 'publicity stunt'

We've seen Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston kissing. We've seen them frolicking in the ocean. We've seen him wear an "I <3 T.S." tank top. We've seen them in Rhode Island and Suffolk and Rome and Australia. But we've never heard them talk about each other. Until now.

There's nothing like an Emmy nomination to get someone on the phone with a reporter, and there's nothing like a highly publicized romance that many speculate is a stunt and/or performance art to raise questions about that romance. And that's what happened today when Hiddleston was nominated for his turn in the mini-series The Night Manager.

Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift leave a restaurant in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia on July 10, 2016.

Speaking by phone from Australia (where he's filming the third Thor film currently) to The Hollywood Reporter, Hiddleston addressed the issue head on when asked if the whole thing was a sham.

"Well, um. How best to put this?" Hiddleston told THR. "The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we're very happy. Thanks for asking."

He took it one step further. "That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt."

Well folks, there you have it.

Will this deter the Hiddleswift truthers? Will Calvin Harris and Katy Perry tweet about it? Will they arrive on the Emmys red carpet together?

We'll have to wait and see. Because apparently Hiddleswift isn't going anywhere.
