So, everyone was pretty psyched when they heard that Scarlett Johansson was cast as another female action hero in an adaptation of anime Ghost in the Shell, right? Because she was great in Lucy? And because that'll be one more movie that we'd get to see her in skin-tight spandex? Well, not exactly...

Fans are actually not super psyched to see the actress in this particular role. The thing is, Ghost in the Shell is set in futuristic Japan, and Johansson has been cast as a Japanese character named Motoko Kusanagi. And last time we checked, Scarlett Johansson isn't Japanese.

Naturally, Twitter was up in arms about yet another case of Hollywood whitewashing (also see here, here and here). And as much as we love Scarlett, aren't there like a million other Asian actresses who could have gotten the part (and looked just as great in spandex)?
